Description

The scope of works covers the maintaining and updating the UK Power Networks electrical cable network, and as mentioned this will be undertaken within the company's GIS NetMAP (GE Smallworld Core 5.2 plus NRM Electricity) and other associated systems to UK Power Networks in accordance with the NetMAP capture specification.

Total Quantity or Scope

The primary service required is to update and maintain UK Power Networks' records held on our geospatial Information System; NetMAP (GE SmallWorld 5.2). The Contactor will be required to record all relevant updates onto NetMAP which are received both electronically in SAP and FEI (Field Exchange Interface) within NetMAP, AutoCAD, GPS Points and in PDF format from internal delivery functions, contractors and independent connections providers Three instances of NetMAP are maintained, based on the three UK Power Networks licence areas. SPN NetMAP is fully vectorised whilst EPN and LPN are only partially vectorised (c20% of the network) and as such requires the update of both the Raster and Vector map bases. (UK Power Networks aim to convert to a fully vectorised map base, but this will be undertaken over several years via a project outside of this contract). The Contractor will be required to capture the following in NetMAP • Underground and overhead cables, lines and associated equipment • Schematic Representation of Substation internals • Asset attributes and characteristics Additionally • Review and reconciliation across other asset systems. • The update of Operation Statuses in SAP is necessary. Internal Quality Assurance will need to be undertaken with minimum pass rates delivered ahead of further QA by Geospatial Network Records (GIS) staff to ensure standards are maintained. The Contractor will be required to ensure accurate and complete network data records are maintained to the specified standards, timescales and service levels, by work collaboratively with the Geospatial Network Records (GIS) team. Additional technical development and advisory services are also required on an ad hoc basis.
