Description

This framework will combine the current existing category Cold Beverages Confectionery & Snacks and Hot Beverages & Vending Consumables. These categories are focused on providing the NHS ambient beverages, crisps and snacks through the transacted route to market. The framework aims to offer a wide range of products which meet the customer needs. Whilst it is anticipated that initial expenditure (24 months) under any forthcoming procurement will be in the region of £40,000,000. I For the full 48 month term (if extended) the anticipated value of the framework agreement will be in the region of £70,000,000. These values are approximate only. 1 Retail & Patient Beverage Coffee Lot 1

Retail & Patient Beverage Coffee including but not limited to: Instant, filter and organic coffee products in a variety of pack sizes and pack formats. Including but not limited to tins, pouches, jars and sachets. Soluble coffee granules made from roasted and ground coffee beans that produce a hot beverage when mixed with boiling. Retail coffee such as iced coffee products which are ambient stable and cappuccino mixes.

2 Retail & Patient Beverage Tea Lot 2

Retail & Patient Beverage Tea including but not limited to: Fairtrade or equivalent, black, herbal, organic and bulk brew tea products. Tea bags containing black tea which when covered with boiling water infuse the dried, crushed leaves of the tea plant to create a hot drink. Products must be Fairtrade or have an equivalent certification.

3 Carbonated & Non Carbonated Drinks Lot 3

Carbonated & Non Carbonated Drinks including but not limited to: Carbonated cola drinks, carbonated citrus drinks, still fruit flavoured drinks and sugar free variations. Carbonated drinks, glucose drinks and iced tea.

4 Patient Beverage cordials Lot 4

Patient Beverage cordials including but not limited to: Squashes and sugar free squashes.

5 Retail & Patient Beverage Juice Lot 5

Retail & Patient Beverage Juice including but not limited to: Apple, orange, cranberry and pineapple juice cartons, and retail juice.

6 Retail & Patient Beverage Water Lot 6

Retail & Patient Beverage Water but not limited to: Still water-cuplet and still water bottles, canned and flavoured waters.

7 Vitamin Drinks Lot 7

Vitamin Drinks including but not limited to: Vitamin enriched carbonated and non-carbonated beverages.

8 Hot Chocolate & Malted Drinks Lot 8

Hot Chocolate & Malted Drinks including but not limited to: Powdered products in a variety of pack sizes and pack formats including but not limited to tin, pouches, and sachets.

9 In Cup Products & Vending Consumables Lot 9

In Cup Products & Vending Consumables including but not limited to: Retail and patient feeding in cup hot beverage solutions where the product is purchased in cup requiring the addition of hot water. This lot also includes hot beverage consumables including but not limited to coffee, tea, hot chocolate, and a variety of vending machine consumables.

10 Patient Feeding Biscuits Lot 10

Patient Feeding Biscuits including but not limited to: Boxes, roll packs, twin packs, mini packs and individually wrapped biscuits.

Patient Feeding Cakes including but not limited to: Individually wrapped cakes, muffins, gluten free cakes, portioned cakes, and ambient based desserts.

Whilst it is anticipated that initial expenditure (24 months) under any forthcoming procurement will be in the region of £40,000,000 The contract will be between NHS Supply Chain: Food and the supplier, however: 1) NHS Supply Chain: Food; 2) Any NHS trust; 3) Any other NHS entity; 4) Any government department, agency or other statutory body; and/or 5) Any private sector entity active in the UK healthcare sector will be able to enter into a direct contract with the supplier for any of the supplies and/or services under the framework. The supplier will be required to report to and pay a direct contract management fee to NHS Supply Chain: Food as detailed in the tender documents. NHS Supply Chain: Food is currently considering the use of lots for this procurement. However, it reserves the right not to as part of any future tender process. Further information in respect of the lot strategy will be set out in the notice for the forthcoming procurement. As part of its pre-tender strategy, NHS Supply Chain: Food would also like to engage with the suppliers of these products via a Request for Information (RFI).
